What does the first consultation involve?
At your first visit we get to know you in detail. We discuss your wishes, any complaints or concerns, and your dental history. We also go through your medical details and any medication you take, as these can affect your oral care.
This is followed by a full oral examination: we assess your teeth, the gums, existing fillings and crowns, and the mucous membranes. Where needed we take X-rays so we can also see what is not visible to the naked eye.
A personal treatment plan
Based on the examination we discuss our findings in plain language, with images where that helps. If treatment is needed, we set out the options side by side and think along with you about what suits you best in the long term. For more extensive treatments you receive a cost estimate in advance, so that you know what the costs are beforehand.
We do not treat for the sake of treating: preserving a healthy set of teeth is always the starting point.
What should you bring?
- A valid form of identification
