Crown: protection for a weakened tooth
A crown is a precisely fitting cap of porcelain or zirconia that is placed over a prepared tooth. A crown is the appropriate solution when a tooth is too badly damaged for a filling, for example after a large restoration or a root canal treatment. The colour and shape are matched to your own teeth.
Bridge: closing the gap of a missing tooth
If a tooth is missing, a bridge can fill the open space. The bridge is attached to the neighbouring teeth and is therefore fixed in the mouth; you will hardly notice it in everyday use. A bridge is particularly suitable when the neighbouring teeth would themselves benefit from a crown.
Implant: a new root
An implant is an artificial root of titanium that is placed in the jawbone. After a healing period, a crown, bridge or click-on denture is attached to it. The great advantage: the neighbouring teeth remain untouched and the jawbone continues to be loaded and is therefore preserved. Implant treatment calls for a careful assessment of the jawbone and gums; where needed, we work together with an experienced implantologist.
What does the process look like?
- Assessment: examination of the tooth, the jawbone and the gums, with X-rays
- Plan & estimate: the options side by side, with a clear estimate in advance
- Treatment: in one or more appointments, in cooperation with the dental laboratory
- Aftercare: check-ups and dental hygiene to keep the result healthy for a long time
